Will Concrete Mobile finish the concrete for me?
No. Placing the concrete for your project is your (or your concrete contractor’s) responsibility. Concrete Mobiles role in successful concrete projects is to produce, deliver, and discharge the specified concrete mix for your project, in a safe and timely manner.
However, we can recommend trusted professional concrete contractor’s in the area to help you finish your project. Just give us a call at 701.852.3019
What tools will I need to finish concrete and where can I get them?
Local construction material company’s can help you decide what you need based on your project. Many offer rental services for concrete tools. Here are a few Concrete Mobile recommends.

How big and how heavy is the ready mix truck?
The empty weight of a Concrete Mobile ready mix truck with typical levels of fuel and water is around 29,000 pounds, and will double in weight with a full 9 to 10 yard load. The height of our vehicles can be up to 12 feet; the width of our vehicles is 8.5 feet.
The consequences of moving equipment of this size onto your property to facilitate unloading must be carefully considered. The customer assumes responsibility when inside lot line delivery is made. Damage in any matter to sidewalks, inside driveways, buildings, trees, shrubbery, ect, are at customers risk. Customer is responsible for sure access to job site.
How far do the concrete chutes reach?
The chutes on the back of the ready mix trucks can typically reach up to 19 feet.
What does the term slump mean?
Slump refers to the consistency of fresh concrete in a plastic state (prior to hardening). Slump is measured in inches and indicates the wetness or stiffness. Additional water added to the concrete will increase the slump of the concrete and decrease its overall strength. Concrete delivered to jobsites generally have a slump between 3 & 5 inches. The customer must assume responsibility for water added at the job site.
When should I place my order?
We will always try to work with whatever notice is given. However, suggest that you place orders 24 hours in advance or as soon as you start making plans for your next pour, give us a call so that we can also start making plans.
How should I prepare for hot weather?
Concrete will set-up much quicker in hot weather. Ask our dispatchers to add retarder to your load. Make sure you have enough people on site to place the concrete quickly. It is recommended that the sub-grade is dampened before placement begins. Click the link for more information on hot weather concreting.
What about curing the concrete?
What about sealing the concrete?
Sealing helps keep moisture and contaminants from being absorbed by the concrete. Concrete Mobile recommends that you talk to your local construction material company representative for information regarding sealing products, coverage amount, and how often to apply.
What about Site Preparation?
Before concrete is placed the site needs to have a sub-base that is uniform, well compacted, level, free of soft spots, loose dirt, grass, large rocks and topsoil. Different situations can require deeper excavation of existing soil to be replaced with quality sub-base material. Concrete Mobile recommends that the removed soils be replaced with high quality road base material such as NDDOT Class 5 Compaction Gravel available at Gravel Products, Inc. If subgrade is not adequate it can increase the effects of freeze/thaw damage on finished concrete.
In their simplest terms, Concrete forms are a barrier that holds concrete in place. And should be shored up on the bottom to avoid plastic concrete seeping out the bottom of the forms. Also forms need to be properly braces so that the form does not bow or break due to the pressure of the concrete forces against the form walls.
What if I need concrete delivered to the back of my house, or someplace that's located away that's hard to reach with a ready mix truck?
Concrete Mobile offers the best in pumping equipment to place concrete in hard to reach locations. We can schedule the pump and concrete to arrive at your project at the same time, making it a seamless process without having to juggle with two different companies.
How long do I have to work with the concrete?
There is no typical or specific time frame for working with concrete. There are to the many variables involved, such as mix design, admixtures, temperature, wind speed, humidity, ground temperature, distance from batch plant, how long it took to unload and placement location (indoors/outside), to name a few. Concrete must be finished properly in a timely manner.
Can I use deicer chemicals on my concrete?
Concrete Mobile does not suggest to use deicer chemicals on concrete. Use of deicer chemicals can void warranty. Sand is an acceptable alternative to deicing chemicals. Deicing chemicals used for snow and ice removal can cause surface scaling. Remember deicers can also reach concrete surfaces other than by direct application — for example, drippings from the under-carriage of vehicles. NEVER use deicers containing ammonium sulfate or ammonium nitrate, as they will chemically attack and rapidly disintegrate concrete.
What information do I give the Customer Service/Dispatch department when ordering concrete?
The dispatcher will need to know the desired mix design, slump, if any admixtures or fibers are requested, address of job site with good directions, what type of concrete work it is, wither you need the pump or not, phone number, and also requested delivery time and spacing between trucks.
